Until 1973 SOLVANG was working as a smack, sailing from Berlevåg east of the Northkap. 1973 she was sold by her owners, the heirs of the fisherman Trygve Hammer, to an American named Joseph Kellam, who restored her to an authentical state at the Bieritz-shipyard in Friedrichskoog / Germany in order to cross the ocean for California. This plan was dropped and in 1980 the vessel was sold to Freddy Caspersen, in 1988 to Jørgen Møller Petersen in 1998 to Nis-Edwin List-Petersen and in 2014 to Poul Erik Clausen. Home habours were Svendborg, Troense, Nyborg , Aabenraa and now Ebeltoft.
